Week 10 Term 2

As we enter the last week of Term 2, we welcome parents to our Parent/Teacher Meetings. This is an important part of our reporting process so please ensure you have made an appointment. If you missed out, please email your child’s teacher to arrange a suitable time to catch up and discuss your child’s progress and goals moving forward into the second semester of the 2025 school year.

I wish Maryann Tarrant all the best as she retires at the end of term and thank her for her dedication to St Gregory’s. We are in the process of hiring a replacement Classroom Support Teacher and hope to be able to announce the replacement next term. This term we also farewell Mary Langdon who will be taking some time off to focus on her health and we look forward to welcoming Mary back to St Gregory’s in the future. We will welcome Emma Norton to St Gregory’s next term teaching Music at Lowe Street for the remainder of the year.

Yesterday we had a very successful school disco. There were several parents from the Community Council and the fundraising committee who put many hours in to ensure it was a fabulous event. I thank them all for their time and dedication to both the children and the school. A shout out must also go to Kate McManus-Green who gave up most of her Sunday to support this event as unfortunately I am unwell and couldn’t attend this time.

The St Gregory’s Community Council would love your feedback and input. The community council meets twice a term, and parents are welcome to attend the meetings which commence at 6pm Tuesday Week 2 and Week 8 each term in the Lowe Street staffroom. If you are unable to attend meetings the Community Council would still love to hear from you! If you have any feedback, questions or input please email the Community Council email address stgregorys.schoolcouncil@cg.catholic.edu.au. You can also find information about the school Community Council on the school website.

Thursday will see the end of another busy term for students. TeamKids is available if you need care for Friday or any other day throughout the holidays up to and including Monday 21st July. Please reach out to TeamKids sooner rather than later if you require care as it is a very popular service and does fill up at times. I hope you have a nice restful few weeks and stay safe over the holidays. May we pray together as we look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday 22nd July for Term 3.

                                                                             Dear Lord,

We take time to reflect and thank you, for all that was good over this term.

For the love of our family and friends.

For the sunshine that warms the cooler days.

For the help of our teachers and support staff.

For our growing talents and abilities and ever improving knowledge, wisdom and happiness. Give us the grace to become more like Jesus in the ways we think and behave.

We thank you Lord, for our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our holiday time with family and friends.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others and to be peacemakers in our family.

Keep us safe over the holidays and as we journey to exciting holiday destinations. Support us with Your strength and grace when we are weary and guide us to make our time together as a family meaningful and memorable.

Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.

Amen

Have a blessed school holiday we look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday July 22nd.
